PILLS
When I began treatment, I was taking close to twenty pills a day. Now I take half of one.
I decided to photograph that reduction: pills on a white ground, without explanation or decoration. Almost like a clinical document.
Some of the pills float or tilt. I live with the feeling of standing on a line, because I never know when or how the body might change again. Perhaps all lives are like this. The most important events often arrive suddenly, and we are always standing within an uncertain balance. I wanted to hold that weight and weightlessness together.
Medication is what helps keep my life stable like "Food".
These photographs record that maintenance through a number that slowly falls.
