One of the most memorable parts of the artist visit for me was when I asked whether your past work still influences your present practice, and you said yes.
Artist Ahn Jongwoo has continued to develop work based on the question, “Can the past be touched?” He said that he continues to learn, little by little, from his earlier work in the present.
In response to that, I made a vase for his current 2026 work, Umoregi, through which his past work, Flower, can be viewed.
I hope this piece allows his work to look back at the past while continuing to move through the present toward the future, and that it also brings a bright sense of joy to his studio.
